i've followed the step by step instruction in installing the game but whenever i try to play the game i can only go as far as character select then it CRASHES!!!

i tried creating a new account, new character, but same thing happens each time i try to log on... i would really like to stop creating characters and start playing but it wouldn't let me!!! HELP PLS!!!
